These held up to the teenager test! June 7, 2007 Valorie Spencer (Palm Harbor, FL United States) 109 out of 111 found this review helpful
I bought a pair of these mattresses at the last minute on price alone because we needed a pair of twins in a hurry. They held their air through four full days/nights of camping by two teenage boys. They boys like to flop down and bounce around - goofing off as kids do.
We used standard twin sheets which stayed tucked in. The mattresses did not get cold in the night (the flocking helps) and never lost a bit of air. They were very quick to inflate, quick to deflate, and easy to roll up to pack for the next trip. Winners... who knew? Now YOU do.
Update. The review above was written during the summer. The mattresses were since stored in a covered tub in our hot Florida attic for many months until being pulled out for a Thanksgiving camping trip. Once again these mattresses held up to the teenager test. They were just as supple and fresh as the first day out of the box. I'm really happy with these and plan to use them again in another few months.
Great, Simple Bed, Great Price May 7, 2008 Mark Bovair (Detroit, MI USA) 23 out of 26 found this review helpful
We used this on vacation for my 2 year old son. It worked perfectly, quick set-up and take down. The quality is the best I have ever seen from an air bed. Much better than the Coleman ones I have had in the past. Very comfortable as well. The pump was a bit "cheap" feeling, but it got the job done.
Great Buy! July 12, 2009 A. Webb (Atlanta, GA USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We purchased two of these mattresses for camping. In the past I have slept on air mattresses that lost air through the night or when turned on your side your hips touched the ground. We didn't experience any of those problems with these air mats! We had a normal weight (140) and husky weight(260) and neither one of us had any complaints! They held up great and we got a pretty good nights sleep. The large plug was awesome for fast and easy deflation. The pumps that come with them are very nice for quick inflation - it took me about 4 mins to completely inflation one mat. The only complaint I could possibly have is that if you are very tall your feet will probably hang off the mattress. I am so glad I purchased these mats for a stellar price! It was a great investment!
Intex Air Matteress - 8" August 18, 2008 Steelheadbud (Northwest Wisconsin) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Great air mattress! Went camping and it stayed inflated for 3 days and was still inflated when I broke camp. Inflates fast with pump. Probably a little heavy for long backpacking trips. Super for vehicle camping. I have a bad back and it did not bother me at all. Very comfortable. Valve a little complicated but easy to operate once you figure out how it works. The soft top is great. The vinal is heavy and tough. Fits perfect in my 2 person backpacking tent with some room to spare on both sides for personal items. Free pump is a nice touch but a little hard on batteries. You get 4-5 fills to a set of 4 size D batteries. I have an additional pump that hooks into my truck lighter that I use if I can to save on batteries. They also make 110 pumps for home use. Great price! A few bucks less than Shopko sale price.
Great mattress for music festivals or 2-3 day camping trips May 2, 2010 john everyman (earth) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I used this for the Coachella 2010 Music and Arts Festival. It stayed firm through the night and kept my back off the ground (unlike air mattresses I've used in the past). I had to inflate it a bit every night but I blame the desert sun for that. The included pump was universal too, so everyone at the camp site was able to use it.
