Product Description You don't have to eat like an animal just because you happen to be dining outdoors. Not when you take along the ingeniously portable, incredibly versatile, spillproof and functional Outdoor Meal Kit. Our one-of-a-kind Meal Kit makes it easy to prepare, clean-up and enjoy the great taste of every campfire meal. Designed especially for Light My Fire by Scandinavian designer Joachim Nordwall, our Meal Kit is perfect for your backpack, boat, picnic basket, even your lunch box. The Meal Kit contains everything you need to prepare and eat a meal anytime, anywhere: two plates, a spill-free cup with lid (300ml), a combined colander and cutting board, a "spork" (combined spoon and serrated fork) and a small waterproof box for all those things that just have to stay dry. The spork is made of a tough and durable PC (polycarbonate) material and the rest is made of PP (polypropylene), an environmentally-friendly plastic.

Style and function May 12, 2007 DW (Earth) 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
In this world plastic is a word synonymous with disposable, cheap, and of poor manufacture. Not so for the Light My Fire Outdoor Meal Kit. One could go through life using disposable plastic containers to take food to work on a hike, but this lacks style and isn't environmentally friendly. There are other plastic personal picnic kits, but they pretty simple and not quite as functional as this kit. The units all stack together for a compact form. The lids that are supposed to keep a seal do.
The only part that seems a little silly is the spife (spoon-fork-knife), but that's mostly because I am a spork kind of person.
Best Mess Kit I've seen December 16, 2008 Spyder (Illinois) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The LMF mess kit is a functional and attractive piece of equipment. Unlike the traditional metal kits, these are durable, light weight and come with everything you need in a compact package. Adult or child there is ample room for most meals coupled with the strainer and spork this is the best mess kit I have ever owned.

Light My Fire Mess Kit January 19, 2009 A. D. Mortinger (Connecticut) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We ordered a second Light My Fire mess kit for my husband because my son liked the first one so much. Both use them for Boy Scout activities.
A great, Earth-friendly kit June 3, 2009 Paul Gifford (Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like others, we picked up a few of these kits to go camping with our Cub Scout Pack. I saw all kinds of other mess kits on the trip and I'm completely happy with my purchase of these kits.
It's very convenient that everything packs into one container. The cutting board/strainer is a nice addition and very useful. The waterproof container is perfect for spices or snacks (especially since it almost always rains on our camping trips - if you're having a drought just invite us to camp near you...problem solved!). The cup is a little funky and takes some getting used to, but the lid is convenient to keep bugs and debris out of your drink.
Another bonus (for me): I can't stand eating off metal plates. The metal on metal sound drives me crazy. No worries with this kit!
Since the knife is integrated into the single utensil I ordered an additional pack of sporks (Light My Fire Spork 4-Pack). I couldn't see a way to cut food otherwise, without using my hands.
Light My Fire's customer service is to be commended. One of the kits I ordered was missing its spork. All it took was an e-mail to the company and a replacement was on its way (two, in fact).
Why fill the trash with paper plates, plastic utensils, and styrofoam cups? Get a few of these and you're set for life.
